How indepth do we have to know the 5 kingdoms? do we have to memorize the different pylums for each kingdom?

memorize phyla for animalia for sure..other's don't matter i believe

in every practice book, and i'm pretty sure on my ap exam as well, were questions on the classification of sponges, flat worm, and the order the organs/ tissues evolved in the classes. (goodness i can't remember any specifics though.)

Well, know the major differences between them like for plants/animals. Also know difference between each kingdom obviously.

Umm.. actually I don't know... but the m/c questions concerning the phyla well basically give you some characteristic (body symmetry, type of motility, how it gets food, coeloemate or not, etc) and ask you to identify which "of the following" (followed by list of random phyla >.<) has that characteristic.

At least from the practice tests I've seen, that's how it's like... I see quite a few of the animal kingdom, but the others could also be on the test for monday.

so are u guys goign to spend time on it?

Well.. I made a list/chart sort of thing (during orchestra rehearsal lol)... and I might go over it sunday night...

Hmm.. I just realized.. I type really slow -.-

Are there ever any questions on like protista phyla, or algae phyla? or even diff's between archaebacteria and eubacteria?

archea and bacteria , ,maybe ..but not that many , besides its easy, protisits, i doubt, ive seen some but not that many, and they werent even in depth but u hafto know a bit about charophycyans (green algae; believed to be ansestors of plants), plants DEFINETLY ...animals ..same as plants, fungi , well ...questions are usually VERY general in fungi (like cell walls made of, method of feeding, ..etc..)...
O and i got two questions while we are at it
1. In the PR prac test (2nd one) in one of the q's the answer key says that "Greeen algae are UNIcellular" ..i mean WHAT ..is that TRUE>??????/(if it is i am screwed)
2.DO we REALLY have to know like sensory organs and stuff for the test, u know like....eyes, ears, nose, ETC..?

ok i am getting 33/45 which comes to like a 66/100 on a real test. That's a 3, but just barely, if I don't get anything on the FR.

Am I screwed?
What's the major stuff I should know? That are BOUND to come up on the test.

omg omg omg... :panics:

:runs around naked yelling fire!:

This test is dead scary. I feel like no matter how much I have learned/studied, I am still screwed on essays. especially the lab one.

=( Ahhh... I'm beginning to panic too.. It's contagious yes? lol

And yeah.. the lab essay is what I'm most afraid of, since I never did any of them... But hey.. maybe we'll all fail so badly that in the end, everyone scores high? =P

yea...we should like..unite with all the kids in the nation and tell them to lleave their papers BLANK...that way ..we ALL get 5's..BWAHAHHA

Does anyone have a chart for the differences between them that they could email or have a link to on the web?

I'm reading cliffs and just reached that part.. but its way too archaic for me to memorize

between what?

Kingdoms .. phyla etc whats needed for the test..

just know basic characteristics for invertebrates:
like annelida - segmented
and coelomates - coelom
... arthropods - jointed appendages (comes up all the time)

oh are we supposed to know the muscle filament movement stuff
i sincerely hate that thing

duh....coelomates is not a phylum name..........

Just study. Don't try to avoid it by convincing yourself via peer approval that it will not be on the test.
