AP Bio vs AP Enviro??

which of these should i take my senior year? Ap Bio or AP Enviro?
I am also taking
German 4
Calc AB
AP Literature
AP Econ
AP Gov
AP Bio OR AP Enviro...

take ap biology, it's fun

AP Bio wud challenge u........while AP Enviro wud most likely be a joke.

At my school APES is busy work and tree-hugging. AP Bio will give you a better foundation to tree-hug later.

Self-study Environs and take the actual AP Bio class -- Environs is pretty do-able, researchable online and mostly common-sense. If you're already taking Econs or Gov (or World History), combining that with Bio would give you the skills to do most of the AP Environs exam anyway.

AP Bio gives you some pretty good theory to build upon.

Have you taken Honors Biology already? I am not sure what AP Bio has in store in terms of challenge, but this "tree-hugger" who took APES self-studied for it and got a 4 and still managed to scrape 790 in SAT Biology without a prep book just your average public school honors class.
Depends on what you want though. Go to both those AP teachers and compare the lesson plans and see which rocks your socks. Maybe if you have already taken honors Bio, APES might prove to be a more of a new and interesting experience to you. Of course the reasonable explanation to take Bio is AP Biology enables you to take advanced Biology class in college and not because APES is a joke as quoted by the non tree-huggers up there.

SAT Biology hardly covers the depth of the AP Biology course; some of the most intricate processes hardly get covered; 25% of SAT Biology is knowing the appropriate Latin.

Whereas, APES doesn't seem that all challenging an exam. I was going to self-study and take it, only to realise that my school wasn't willing to order it for me.

Well, yeah my school didn't have AP classes at all. I had to make do and self-study for AP exams the neighboring snooty town school will allow me to take.
3365, approach AP exams from your prospective college plans and courses.

AP Biology!

well i wanted an "easy" A my senior year but someone told me that colleges look down up upon ap enviro.

bump...

not sure if the colleges look down on ap environment science. i don't think it really matters. but, i would recommend ap bio bc you will actually end up learning a great deal, while ap environmental science is waste of your time and you don't learn anything...

let's say i got an A in either AP enviro or AP bio, which would be more beneficial in terms of college admission(the best ones)? i honestly don't care if i am not going to learn anything because i know i am going to have senioritis and the ap bio class at my school is known for its austerity...

^A college rep just said AP Bio :). Go for it then.

to be honest, college won't care much about this. this is such a small detail and small portion of your app. they won't reject you or accept you based on your choice to either take ap bio or enviro. in fact, i know a kid who took ap enviro senior yr and slacked who got into yale.

What's your intended major? I took APES and I enjoyed it. The workload for both AP Bio and APES at my school was fairly similar. You should take whichever course interests you more/is more relevant for you in college. Plus, I don't see why college admissions would look down on either class; APs weren't designed to be "easy," regardless of subject.

business or medicine

i am still not sure... one day i want to major in medicine... and then another in business... i cant decide!

If you're considering medicine, then I'd suggest AP Bio for sure.

AP Bio would by no means gives you any helpful taste of medicine or prepare you for medicine....just to make it clear....

In general, most most selective schools are going to recognize AP Bio as a more difficult curricular choice than AP ES...AP ES and AP Psych and AP Comp Sci are all great advanced electives, but they do not substitute for an AP lab science like bio, chem, or physics. Same things with AP Stats - great advanced elective, but it is not a substitute for AP Calc (AB or BC)!

Yes, but it would make general biology in college a bit easier. Gen bio, of course, is a med school prerequisite.
