AP Bio vs Physics?

Hi, I’m a rising senior who needs help with scheduling for the upcoming year.

I can’t decide whether or not to take AP Bio or regular physics. AP Bio could potentially offer college credit, whereas physics would fulfill the bio-chem-phys chain that colleges like to see. Both classes have certain benefits I could use, and I can’t determine which are better.

For context, I hope to major in anthropology. I haven’t taken a physics class yet, but I’ve been taking honors science courses for the past three years. And though I’ve considered it, I cannot take both courses at once.

Any advice is welcome, and thank you!

A lot of schools requires all 3 - Bio, Chem and Physics. Is your school one of them? If so your choice is made. Unless you want to take both.

If you haven’t taken any physics yet, I’d take that.

My high school only requires 2 years of lab science and none of the colleges I’m applying to require physics. But my chem teacher did say that if a college had to choose between two students with the same stats/ecs, they would be more likely to choose the one that took physics.

Yeah I think Physics is the winner then.
You can take a CC class in Biology if you want college credit and scheduling is an issue.

I agree…take Physics.
