***AP Biology 2015 Thread***

@tlf123098 do that, or you can wait till monday!

@TodaysEinstein @tlf123098 congrats to you both on getting into great schools!

I’m a rising junior with aspirations toward Duke, Brown, MIT, and UChicago

@silverhawk5 One tip of advice i can give you about that is to absolutely maintain a high gpa and get high test scores above all else. Also you should do stuff in the major your interested in, whether it be research or pet projects. Good luck with those schools! I’m sure you’ll get into good places

@silverhawk5 I agree with todayseinstein, especially on research/pet projects. While I’m sure you’re very smart, there’s no guarantee you’ll get into your top choices, but having well formed interests will get you more excited for whatever college you end up going to

8 more days for me…

Well… there’s always a way around that schedule

Physic for sure.

@cavern101 ok that’s good. I wanna major in BIO, and having already taken AP Bio I opted to take Honors Organic Chemistry and AP Physics 1 next year instead of AP Chemistry and Honors Physics. Unfortunately I have no background in Physics, but I do have a background in chemistry.

@vmiller7723 If you are proficient in chemistry, I would suggest you to take in (It can help for that Bio major).
But that is just my opinion.

@cavern101 Idk, I’ve heard that Organic Chemistry is the “weed-out” class in college for bio majors, so it may help more if I take organic chemistry than AP Chemistry which I am planning to do.

Scores just came up on my college’s website, got a 5! Ecstatic, gets me better placement and was really expecting a 4.

@Matt846 congrats! Did you finish all the FRQs and MCQ? What made you think you got a 4? I’m really wanting a 5, but idk if I made the cutoff. Oh and what college did you get your score from?

@silverhawk5 I don’t remember if I had to skip maybe one or two parts of a question on the FRQ but I definitely had nearly if not all of it completed, though some of it was BS guesswork. I only flat out guessed on 1 or 2 MCs that I ran out of time for. I assumed I’d gotten a 4 just because with the redesigned exam you need like 80% on the exam for a 5 so there’s not a huge margin for error. I got the score from UMDCP. However, if it affects anything I had the late, late exam (as in the exam after the late exam, form Z).

@Matt846 Do you by any chance remember which question you had difficulty in? And how many wrong do you think you got on the MC? (Take into consideration the ones you guessed on).

@cavern101
Not really. I remember flat out guessing on a grid in for recombination frequency, and I got mixed up on how DNA is transcribed/translated with the 5’ and 3’ end for an FRQ, but otherwise it was too long ago. Either way, I had the exam they give after the late exam so I’ll have a different curve and questions than almost everyone else did.

Hey guys I got a 3 :frowning: I really thought I got a 4. This is the first and only 3 I’ve ever gotten. Luckily I still get credit but still…

@kinglime how did you get your scores already?

@vmiller7723 I sent them to my college and they posted them on my portal.

What will a 58+/69 and 30+/41 get me? I feel solid on the MCQ I finished all of it and read everything, but I can only get 37/41 pts for the FRQ at best since I left FRQ 4 (mitosis/meiosis) blank bc I ran out of time. I also think I may have missed 5b, and maybe part of 1 and 7. Hoping for a 32/41 to be safe.

I just need some assurance that a 5 is not a long shot. It’s hard waiting when everyone else is getting their scores early. A 4 is good but a 5 on bio opens up so many opportunities.

@kinglime What college did you get accepted in if you don’t mind me asking :3
