I am starting to study for the AP Biology Exam. I don’t own the Campbell Textbook. I am striving for a 5, so do you guys think it will be enough to thoroughly go through the Barron’s prep book, Cliffnotes’ prep book, and a few practice tests?
Probably if you have previous and extensive biology knowledge. If not, then I suggest getting a text-book. I self-studied AP Biology using Campbell 8th edition, Barron’s, and the college board course outline last year. Got a 5. Barron’s and Cliffnote’s by itself isn’t really going to teach you much and I can’t speak for Cliffnote’s but I found Barron’s had too much information that wasn’t needed. Definitely focus on studying the labs and big concepts of biology that I think a prep book alone won’t be able to provide.
I have a McGraw Hill’s Biology 8th Edition. It is one or two editions behind. I don’t read all of the chapters, but I know most of the content because of classwork, tests, etc. Should I also read the chapters as well?
You don’t have to read all of the chapters. My suggestion is too look up “AP Biology McGraw Hill textbook correlations” and go from there.
