AP Biology Books/Suggestions

So i'm taking AP Bio this coming year and I was wondering what prep books are the best in this area. Also, how did everybody study for the exam when it came by? For the people who have taken both bio and chem/physics b, which did you find harder?

I liked Princeton Review better than Barrons. Also, Sparknotes has a surprising amount of great test prep for biology (at least for the SAT II they did, the tests are different but the review is similar).
My teacher printed a bunch of study guides from her teacher edition textbook, so those helped, but its pretty easy to find stuff like that online. Making flashcards definitely helped. Keep all of your lecture notes and labs organized to go over them at the end of the year. And it was helpful to look through past frqs on college board.

Good luck!

I had the Princeton Review (Latest one) but haven’t gotten through the whole thing for the AP exam, but I can tell you that the practice exams on it are much easier than on the actual exam (at least for me it was).

I used Barrons AP Biology as well as flashcards to memorize everything. I recommend that you visit the collegeboard AP Biology website and look over their Free Responses.

I took AP biology this year (in class) and I enjoyed it A LOT. Personally, I lke biology and it is my favorite sbject. In class, we used Campbells 7th edition and it is an ANAZING book. We covered 45 chapters out of 55 (that is a lot) Anyway, if you use this book, I would advise you too actualy read the book, that is what I did. (everything is really interesting, especially the plants) Anyway, I would advise you use the Cliffs review book, it is perfect. (I would also advise you to buy the barrons flashcards and use them the day before the exam to review everything, like a crash course) By doing this, I was really prepared for the exam. I heard that this year the exam was pretty easy. Either way, I did AMAZINGLY on the exam (Def. a 5) Anyway, the course is not hard, it is just A LOT of information (BUT IT IS FUN) GOOD LUCK!

I’m surprised nobody’s screamed Cliffs Ap. So I will
CLIFFFFFFFFFFSSSSSSSSSSSSS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. It’s awesome I used it this year. I also used the Capbell Reece textbook as a supplemental (cliffs has ****ty pictures, but campbell is very pretty if i do say so myself)

Yes cliff notes ap is by far the best!!!   omg it is fantabulous

Totally. Cliffs is probably the reason that I’m even slightly optimistic about my results for AP Bio.

The powerpoints that go with Campbell are pretty good for a quick review. Also the test banks are good for checking what you know.

does Cliffs review the required labs?

^ Yes, it does.

Cliffnotes is truly amazing. It provides an awesome review, it got me my 5.

I took AP Biology earlier this year and obtained a ‘5’ for it. I studied using the CliffsAP AP Biology (3rd Edition) after reading through this forum for recommendations  It’s a really good book and contains just the right amount of details/information that you’ll need for the exam. I referred to Barron’s AP Biology for diagrams/illustrations as well as the CliffsAP AP Biology did not really have much diagrams/illustrations and I’m a visual learner haha.

Has anyone used 5 Steps to a 5 AP bio? If yes, pls lemme know ur opinion about it? Is it good? Thanxx
