I was just wondering–If I am taking AP Biology but I am sure that I will not be going into the biology field in the future (will be going into business/cs/econ), would the biology credits help in any way AT ALL?
Thanks!

Yes, it will filfill IGETC or breadth (both are general ed paths). Plus, it counts as 5 semester units out of the 60 minimum needed to transfer.
Check if your community college will accept it to fulfill part of IGETC, and if your target 4-year schools will accept it for general education requirements.
For UC purposes, an AP biology score of 3 or higher gives 8 quarter units = 5.3 semester units, according to http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/exam-credit/ap-credits/index.html . The various CSU campus web sites indicate that an AP biology score of 3 or higher gives 9 quarter units = 6 semester units at CSUs. These units can help you meet the 90 quarter units = 60 semester units needed to transfer (though your total unit count may differ for UC and CSU purposes due to different numbers of units for AP scores).
Hey, @ucbalumnus brings up a good point. I’m fairly certain AP can be applied to any and all IGETC (but check) but there are some breadth that won’t accept AP credit, so I stand corrected. Be sure to verify.
Thank you! Yea, I was particularly curious about credits for Berkeley, UCLA, USC, etc.
