Hello!
Would it be better if I took AP Bio in high school or a concurrent enrollment in Biology at a community college (so taking Biology in a community college WHILE in high school)?

Is a Biology course at a community college the same level as an AP Bio course in high school?

AP Biology is better because it’s more standardized.
Dual-enrollment should be for when you want to take a course that your school doesn’t offer, or you’ve exhausted all the AP courses at your school.

It should be, but that isn’t always the case.

Actually, DE might be more helpful, at least if you want to go to med schools, who only accept DE and usually never an AP substitute for a science class like Biology

Also, check your local state college to see if they have their own DE program. Many colleges would like a well-known college on the transcript to give a sense of the rigor of the course, not to bash CC’s.

I also recommend taking AP Biology instead of CC Biology because most colleges will overlook CC classes since they don’t know the rigor of those courses and AP Biology has a standardized AP Exam. I also agree that only take CC classes if your school does not offer a certain course or AP Class. For example, my high school offers several AP Courses but they don’t offer AP Biology and I really want to take the course. I can’t take it online because UC’s and private colleges won’t give you HS credit for the course since it needs to have the wet lab component so I am taking the equivalent of AP Biology at my local CC and I am also going to study for the AP Exam.
