AP Biology! Is this possible?

Ok, so you've probably seen these threads many many times, but is it possible to get a 5 by studying/memorizing the Cliffs AP Prep Book and by using a few other Campbell or online resources?

Starting... today, which is around 40 days before the test?

Our AP Bio teacher sucks and we're still on evolution. the teacher hasn't taught a THING, so all the other chapters we studied on our own and took his tests. I have a shaky foundation on the specifics of the Campbell chapters, but I have a pretty solid foundation of basic biology.

But I know nothing about plants or animals and little about the human body.

So...I still want a 5 by studying off of cliffs for the next few weeks...

ANY SUCCESS STORIES OUT THERE OF PPLE WITH 5s via Cliffnotes?

my friend got a 5 on APBio just off of 2 weeks of cramming before the exam. so i think it works. i plan on studying it myself. Best of Luck! =]

I’m doing the same, today is actually my first day as well!

Making flashcards and then writting steps out for all the cycles, no heavy notes though. Flipping through a few slideshows that my teacher made, or stole, from this awesome biology teacher that puts all of this information online.

care to share the source? I’m sure this awesome biology teacher’s information would help all of us out.

PS: I’m also doing the 40-day program.

I’m pretty sure she uses Campbell & Reece, but sometimes there’s a few Raven powerpoints.

There’s notes, assignments, but the most helpful are her powerpoints, brief & concise.

Best of luck:)

thanks much!

I am going to give it to you straight, it is a very easy test. I nailed a 5 without studying, and I did not do very well in the class. Don’t let your nerves get the best of you.

^ Really? I don’t feel confident at all. We barely did anything in our class. We took a practice AP test and I got a 4 on that, but I literally guessed on half of it, and she made us “assume” that we’d get perfect grades on the essays, which is defintely not realistic!

Oh I actually found the essays to be a lot easier than the MC. I am constantly yelled out for teachers for being a minimalist when it comes to describing in detail too. The multiple choice wasn’t as in depth as I thought it may be, and it was definitely challenging, but no where near impossible. The Barron’s book was much highly regarded than Cliffs too and when I did use it to study I found many of the questions appeared on the test.

You just said you didn’t study and now you say you did. How much did you actually study?

I used the book throughout the year to study for my tests but maybe all of 10 to 20 minutes the night before.
