Hi, I'm a little confused of AP Bio and Chem. Which one am I suppose to take first? AP Biology or AP Chemistry?

well it depends on your interest, your grade level, and your previously taken classes. for example if you like biology, then you should take ap bio, or if you took chemistry/ chemistry honors as your current class, then ap chem is only gonna be a continuation of it.

I haven’t take any of those classes yet. Is there a difference if I take Chem or Bio first? Is there a suggested order?

Our school, whether it’s regular or AP, always does Bio first (sophomore) then Chem (junior).
I’m taking AP Bio right now and have signed up for AP Chem next year. I suggest you take that plan.

If you have never taken Honors Bio or Honors Chem before, than I would definitely go for AP Bio next year. Taking AP Chem without Honors will be almost impossible. I am in honors Chem this year and theres a lot of material to learn before being able to take the AP (Ive seen my AP friend’s notes). I have known people to go straight to AP Bio, and it will start out challenging, but if you put in the time, you will be much more prepared than just starting AP Chem. I recommend you take AP BIO and Honors Chem next year if you do plan to take AP Chem in the future. That being said however, AP BIo is not a prerequisite for AP Chem, honors chem is.

Hope this helps

AP Chem is easier than AP Bio…
I currently have an A+ (yea, i have a 105.8%) in Chem, and am also one of the 20 people in our school invited to take the local section exam for the chemistry Olympiad next Thursday.
Yes, interest does matter, but bio requires A LOT of reading, and it’s basically memorizing. Chem is mostly understanding the concept and figuring out problems.
If you are good at math and subjects that require understanding and problem-solving skills, take chem. If you are people who like to memorize and stuff, take bio.
I personally prefer chem, but that’s just for me cuz i like chem and math subjects.

Thank you all for your answers!

I may be wrong, but I think Chem is a lot of conceptual stuff and Bio is a lot of memorization.

I would do AP Chem first and wait for AP Bio.
