****AP BIOLOGY - POST-exam discussion*****

Youll be lucky for 1.

I thought the entire exam was very generous, not to mention quite simple. I know I definitely have a 3; here’s to hoping for a 4 or 5.

On the FRQs, I believe I got nearly full credit for every single one except for 4b, as I misinterpreted the question entirely. However, the comprehensiveness of my response leads me to believe I will be rewarded a majority of the points available.

I was never tested on that either, thus leading my explanation to be nearly 2 pages long, full of annoying circumlocutions.

do they release the scoring guidelines as well in 2 days? or just the exam?

No they do not release scoring rubrics. or guidelines.

I just realised I miscalculated 2a. ■■■. What a bad number they made you work with :(

If all my steps are right but my final answer is wrong how many marks will be I be deducted?

I thought the MC was surprisingly not difficult-I wouldn’t say easy though.
I think I missed about 15-20, so I probably got an MC raw score of approx. 75…
The essays were slightly more difficult but I was very happy that I knew most of the material. I think I got less than a 5 on #1, 8-10 on #2, 5-7 on #3, and 8-10 on #4.
Calculated by the guidelines many people have posted, that gives me at least a 68 I suppose.
Technically that’s already a 5, but the curve will boost it just in case.
I’m just really hoping for a 5.

MC was easy.
FRQ #1 was hard. (1A was easy, 1B+C = BS)
FRQ #2 was easy.
FRQ #3 was easy.
FRQ #4 was easy.

Overall, it was easy.

Ok I answered number 4 very accurately with detailed descriptions to all parts of question…but I left out alot of important terms related to the topic? Anyone know how high you can get for correctly answering the questions but not using specific terms?

Haha yeah I was wondering about that the night before. Needless to say, I didn’t bother to look at it… I guessed on the question and ended up getting it right! :)

That question seemed pretty broad and I felt like I kept repeating myself for all of the different parts. I couldn’t think of any important terms. Man I really hope I got a 5 on this exam.

Agreed, #4 was extremelyyy broad.
I couldn’t decide on a specific direction to take it, so I just threw in several relevant terms from the ecology unit. I did talk about primary and secondary succession though, which I think was on point.
I had the most trouble on #1
To be real, I just made stuff up.
I did try to make it sound convincing though. lol

For anyone else did they find c both parts to be relatively similar. Yet again, I am trying not to provide any specifics.

can anyone answer my question 4 posts up?:)

I think that scientific names for things are actually pretty important as far as grading goes i.e. you need both the term and the definition.

I was really happy with the MC, i only skiped 2 and i think i only got 3 or 4 wrong. The first essay really threw me off. I knew the two things but i didnt know the other two portions… so i rambled about random things. The other three FR were easy and i did really good on the 4th essay… i hope i get a 5! my teacher said he would quit if i didnt haha

I got grilled by FRQ 3, and I feel so stupid now everybody says that it was easy. At least I got everything else.

@jordanw21 YES I felt like I was basically repeating myself for all the different parts to the 4th question.

if on the 1st frq i answered the question completly out of order ie addressing 3 then 1 then 2 will tht hurt me?

yeah that’s what i did
i answered a then c then b for the first one i think

When they asked for the specifics for question number 3 … I rounded the numbers off since I didn’t have a calculator … is that ok?
