A few months ago I decided to buy a review book for the AP Bio exam, but I wasn’t thinking and almost blindly bought the 5 Steps to a 5. Now I’ve read that typically books like Barron’s, Princeton Review, and Cliff’s are a lot better. What about them makes them better? I’m starting to get a little worried that this may lead to me not doing as well as I would like.
I highly recommend watching the Crash Course Biology series on YouTube. I pretty much spent the weekend before the exam watching every video on 2x speech and taking notes over things I didn’t remember very much. Also, I used 5 Steps to a 5. I had a Barron’s book, but it was super wordy (I didn’t finish it) and had SO much extraneous information. Your time is so much better spent on Crash Course or 5 Steps. I never read the textbook, just Crash Course and 5 Steps got me a 5.
I hear PR is really bad for Biology. I hear the Barrons hasn’t been editted for the new exam – so it’s just going to be studying for biology, rather than to prepare efficiently. If you want to be safe, then study barrons. I hear CliffNotes is really good though. I read through barrons a bit then I decided to switch over to CliffNotes.
Not sure abotu 5 Steps to a 5.
I’m using cliffsnotes(latest edition) and a combination of Bozeman and crash course.I’m also taking the 2013 and 2014 tests.
