AP Biology! Self-Study Or Not?

My school doesn't offer AP Biology but offers biology instead. However, because I can only either take biology or physics, I took physics since I like it more than biology.

I'm considering self-studying biology for next year's AP but I'm not too sure what it covers. I have about 2 months of break from next week onwards so I'm planning to study for my APs then.

I have Biology 7th Ed by Campbell & Reece.

If you have no previous knowledge of biology I wouldn’t recommend it.

I have 4 years of experience learning biology.

Then get Cliffs AP review book and learn it, use Campbell’s for more in-depth study. Campbell’s tend to be superfluous and has a lot of extraneous material that’s not even tested on the exam, while Cliffs is concise and covers everything you’ll see on the exam.

i like cliffs to get most of the info, and then go through campbell’s for more in-depth info. get the 5th ed cambells. its very cheap.

4 years of bio and 2 months off in winter, wow!

Thanks for the info! I actually have 7th and 8th ed Campbell (the 8th is for my brother).

I’m studying overseas, that’s why I have 2 months off. :)

CliffNotes is best. I studied it over the summer and will use the last few months before the test to review it.
