At columbia, you get credit for this test if you earn a 5. I was wondering, as I earned a 4, if you could take a test to waive out of the same bio class you'd get out of if you recieved a 5. Anyone?

Even if you get a 5, they strongly encourage you to not waive out of the introductory bio class.

I got 6 credits for getting a 6 in IBH biology but I had to take the bio class (i'm a biomed engineering major). I was talking to Dr. Mowshowitz about this and she said that she has been considering letting people skip the first semester if they have a good background...but until now they practically dont let u get credit for it...mostly because alot of people come out of AP bio with a 4 or 5 and end up with a B- in mowshowitz's class.

you shouldn't even be taking Mowshowitz's bio class unless you got a 5 on the AP Chem exam or you take general chemistry at Columbia. AP Bio isn't very good preparation because it's a survey-type test that barely scratches the surface with anything.

General Chemistry is a pre-requisite for intro bio....its a sophomore level class.
