AP Biology

What is the best book for AP Biology?

cliffs. no question.

Cliffs is good, but it is very very dense in areas that it doesn't need to be, that's why i think Princeton Review is a bit better.

Do you suggest buying another book for the SAT II Biology test, if so, which one?

I found the Barron's SAT II biology book to be an excellent resource for the test.

For AP Review, Cliffs is by far the best. Nothing comes close.

It only has one practice test, but the review is very comprehensive.

PR, very straight forward.

Cliffs is leagues beyond the other books - nothing is even close to Cliffs, and if you disagree you are kidding yourself.

Yeah, Cliffs is awesome... you may want to refer to your textbook for clearer diagrams though (photosynthesis, etc).

Cliffs and Barron's.

Cliffs + some diagrams from Campbell - read through it a few times and you'll be in excellent shape for the test. I actually used Cliffs to help study for my test in class too.

So Cliffs for the AP and what book for SAT II?

Read the entire book May 8th (thats the night before the exam) and the only trouble i had on the test was some damn immune system question on open ended. but my teacher said 2 "definate 9s", 1"5" 1"2" should be the 4 open endeds and their comparitive point value that you should earn.

Cliffs, I used it in lieu of my Cambell's 6th ed. for approx. 6-7 chapters and did really really well on the AP in spite of that. They also have a lab review session which goes over the required labs in detail which is great.

cliffs is the best overall. i've read the review sections of pr, cliffs, barrons, parts of kaplan for ap. cliffs has teh best review, next barrons, and then kaplan. pr has some mistakes that i've found, as does kaplan.

for sat ii, i used a combo of cliffs ap review, barrons sat ii, and kaplan sat ii. i'd say that for practice tests, kaplan's is really comprehensive, harder than the sat ii that i took. barron's and kaplan's reviews went really far into anat/phys.; it may be useful if you're weak there. cliffs was still the best. i'd recommend using a combo of cliffs/kaplan for best results.

cliffs is good for both AP and SAT II

i hated barrons. some of the questions were really weird stuff they wouldn't ask and there were a few mistakes. dont get it, cliffs combined with your biology textbook is the way to go.
