Hello CC! I'm currently a junior in pre-calculus and I plan on taking AP Calc AB online this summer. I'm going to try to finish the course before the start of senior year so if I do complete the course before that, I will take AP Calc BC online DURING senior year. I asked my counselor about the time conflict for the AP tests and she said I could just do late testing for one of them.

My question is, is it wise to take both of them the same year?

You cannot take both in the same year… Also, BC covers AB, so if you want to take BC, why do you want to take AB first? There’s really no need, unless you’re not great with math.

BC without AB is perfectly normal and only slightly more difficult

Yeah, just take BC.

This question comes up on this board every few weeks like clockwork. The answer is always exactly the same:

There’s no reason to take both of them.

Even if there was, there’s no WAY to take both of them.

BC exam includes an AB subscore, so there’s your AB score if you really wanted it.

Oh okay! I will talk to my counselor again. Thank you guys for clearing things up!
