how much is each section weighted ( free response v. Mult choice)
what is the point total and and how many points for a 5?

it's easy to get a 5

70%+ on MC, and a decent score on the frq

haha i got 3 MC questions wrong on the 1998 MC and aced the free response and my grade in that class is going to be a B/B+ (not because of me not doing the work but because of test grades)

i think it's like ~78/~110 or so total points to get a 5. It's a little higher than most of the other tests

AP Calc AB is a joke...
Its the most basic concepts..
and the curve is awesome..

You should get a 5...

I rank the most easiest exams in this order probably..

Easiest

-AP Calc AB
-AP Stat
-AP World
-AP Govt
-AP Geography

Hardest

-AP Phys B
-AP Chem
-AP Euro
-AP Env

AP Euro is nowhere near the hardest exam. The DBQ can be answered without "knowing where Europe is" (in the words of a fellow CC'er).

Is the BC curve much harder? I'd imagine that there aren't High School Calc people taking the test to bring it down, so people on average do better. However, College Board has said that AP Calc BC is not suppose to be considered a "more difficult course" (as it used to be), but just an extension of AB... so are the curves at least kind of similar?

I took my AP Calc AB final the other day, which consisted of the 2002 Form-B free response and some set of M.C., and that was pretty easy altogether. I just hope I'll know Series stuff well enough for the BC test on Tuesday.

no..

BC is easy curve or hard curve.

they're extremes. ..either u do really good (with the rest of the other ppl), or u do really bad(because a group of ppl do good)

it's weird, i dono, someone just told me that

The BC curve for a five is consistently the following (on many released exams):

64-108 = 5, with 54 possible points for each section.

What!?

That Is Crazy Easy.

Indeed. That's why Cal BC has one of the highest 5 rates of any AP exam.

wat is the next?
Bio?

The FRQ seem very basic... however some of the MC seem pretty dang hard... is the curve really that bad ... 78/110? ... i mean for an AP test...

i got i think i got like 25 or less out of 40 on the practice we did it was the 2001 test... however i think that one might be harder cuz the 2004 AB calc released FRQ was SO easY! while the 2001 MC was pretty damn hard..! i'm pretty good with Multiple choice format (800 Math... although its a bit dif w/ SAT) so i think either they made the MC much harder than FRQ by a factor of 8 or 2001 test was a lot harder than 2004

The test with the next highest five rate is Physics C Electricity and Magnetism, although I am disregarding the AP Language Tests: Total Group (Native Speakers included).

Biology had a 18.9% 5 rate last year.

Is there a certain amount of BC material that someone is required to answer correctly for the BC exam, though? Because it seems like someone with a pretty good knowledge of AB could do well on those parts and then only semi-decent on the BC parts and still be able to get a 5. Is that true?
