So my situation goes like this. I'm taking AP Calculus AB and i'm pretty much failing hard which surprises the hell out of me because i did so well in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry my past 3 years (I'm a senior now). So i'm thinking of dropping ap calc. my school is a total hardass when it comes to dropping ap classes, so i would need a doctor's note which says that i'm feeling sick, i'm tired everyday, nausea because of the class (which are actual symptoms im experiencing). so if i actually am successful in dropping AP calc, how would that appear to nyu stern which i'm applying ED for? basically i would have 3 years of math with no calculus. is that ok for stern or just other business schools in general? i'm taking 4 ap's this year but i pushed myself too much and now i'm doing bad in ap calc. any suggestions?

I just visited the school today, actually, and from what I remember, stern basically REQUIRES calc. There’s no real way around it. However, the guy didn’t mention if you need it in high school or just in your classes at Stern. My advice to you would be to drop down levels in calc if possible. If not, I’d probably still stick with it. IF you apply ED, your first term grades won’t be shown at time of admissions, so as long are you’re not getting literally an F, I think you should be fine (presuming you have a lot of the reqs that Stern looks for)

Yeah i know you have to take it while you’re at Stern, but i meant when you’re in high school. any other opinions?
