I am currently a sophomore in high school and taking Precalc. I have 2 options
Option A: Take AP Calc AB junior year and take AP Calc BC and Multivariable (one class) senior year
Option B: Take Calc BC junior year and AP Stat senior year
I don’t care which one is harder or easier, I would like to know which one will look better and benefit me more. (I think I might want to do engineering if that helps)
Why can’t you take Calculus BC in your junior year and Multivariable Calculus in your senior year?
If you are taking precalculus in 10th grade, this usually comes with the presumption that you are a top student in math. So the most sensible course to take is calculus BC next year in 11th grade, since there is no reason for you to have to take the slower paced AB course, given your strength in math.
For 12th grade, multivariable calculus is the obvious next step if you want to study engineering, physics, or math, but it needs to be a college course in order for you to get subject credit for it by the college that you eventually attend. If you want to take a statistics course, it would be better to take a calculus based statistics course at a college; if your engineering major requires a statistics course, it likely wants a calculus based statistics course, which AP statistics is not.
