So in sophomore year(2014-15) I took the AP Calculus BC exam and I got a 4. In Junior year I’ll be taking Multivariable calculus. I know that 4 isn’t that good for calc because more that 1/2 of the people that take it get a 5. I also got a 4 on AP bio, AP psych, and AP world history. So no 5’s this year. Next year, I’ll be taking 4 more AP exams and will hopefully get 5’s. I’m not expecting to get into any Ivy’s but do you think with these AP exam scores and good stats in other areas(gpa, SAT, ACT, etc…), I’ll be able to get into a good direct med school? I’m not aiming for Brown direct med or anything but I definitely want to do medicine. Also, do you think it’s even worth applying to Ivy’s with four 4’s? Thanks!
ap tests have a minimal effect on college admissions if any at all, and are mainly used for class placement in college. Anyways, a 4 is a good enough score. Focus on standardized tests and gpa.
Thanks! Do you think I should submit my Calc score(if given the choice) when applying?
