I want to get a rec from my AP Calc BC teacher from junior year. He's probably the greatest teacher at my school and there's no way I'm asking my bio teacher. I need a math/sci rec and I know my math teacher would speak very highly of me.

My Calc BC teacher is from Saudi Arabia though. I feel kinda ridiculous asking, but would it look bad if his grammar was bad?

Like will adcoms look at it and be like "wow this guy didn't even proofread his rec - REJECTED!!!" when the guy just doesn't speak English as his first language or what? lol yeah

Talk with him about your concerns. Chances are he has a native-English pal who proofreads recommendation letters for him every year. Don’t forget that it is not unusual for someone to write better than they speak because they have time to double-check their wording.

This. English is not my mother’s first language, but she often tells me that she has an easier time writing emails than speaking (because she gets time to proofread when she writes). I’ve heard this comment from other non-native English speakers too.

Exactly what’s happening to me . My math teacher is the best and I have a great relationship with him and he will right an Excellent rec letter to me , But he doesn’t have a good English language .

What I did is that I made him write in his native language and then took the rec letter to an official translator and he translated it , and I attached both the original rec letter and the translation . I made sure than the admissions are okay with that first though .
