My school offers IB Math HL and AP Calc AB. I know that HL is considered more difficult than Calc AB, but does anyone know whether or not HL and Calc BC are considered on par with each other or whether one is more difficult than the other?

The reason I'm asking is that I want to know whether or not I will be behind students who have taken Calc BC when I go to college and I haven't been able to get a clear answer from anyone yet.

IB Math HL and Calc BC have cover slightly different subject at my high school.

Calc BC covers only calculus. It covers AB topics half of the year, and then focuses on more advanced BC calc topics.

IB Math HL covers AP calculus AB topics the first half of the year, and then covers IB topics, such as statistics, probabilities, abstract algebra, matrices, vectors, etc.

IMO, they are both equally impressive. And yes, you will be behind students who have taken BC, because IB HL only covers AB material (unless you self-study)
