AP Calc or AP Stat

Should I take AP Calc or AP Stat for my senior year next year?
Just some background by the way: I'm a fifteen year old junior in high school and I'm also a Navy brat. Also my previous school was an IB school(This is my 7th school and second high school)
Now I know,I know, you're supposed to take the most challenging and rigorous courses possible and so far that's what I've been doing.

Next year I'm expected by my guidance counselor to take AP Calc AB. However, what I really want to take is AP Stat. I know that people say that it's a easy course and everything but I fell in love with Stat when we did a bit of it in Algebra II and that's where my passion is at. That's a lot for my considering that math has never been my strong suit, since I'm miles better at the sciences, English, and history. I really want to take it but at the same time I don't want colleges that I plan applying to like Georgetown to be turned off just because I took Stats instead of Calc. What do you guys think I should do?

My junior year and planned senior year schedule if anyone's curious.

Junior year 1st semester
-AP Lang dual enrolled
-AP US History (even though u took it 10th grade they don't have anything better or more challenging)
-Econ and Personal Finance (because it's required)
-Chem (also required)
-Pre-Calc
2nd semester junior year
-French IV ( this one annoys me because my school refuses to let me take AP French even though I'm perfectly capable)
-Anatomy and Physiology
-AP Lang
-AP US History
- calculus
Senior year 1st semester if I don't move again
-AP Lit dual enrolled
-AP Bio
-College history course
-AP Stats/AP Calc AB (these are oddly semester course)

Calculus is always considered a more difficult math subject, so it will obviously look better than stats. Unless you are terrible at math, I would encourage you to do it.

I am taking BC calc as a junior right now. It’s much more rigorous than AP stats, but it is definitely more interesting. There is a lot of explaining and writing involved with stats, so if you like numbers (and a crapload of variables) and you’re up for a challenge then do calc!

Do both. No seriously, if you’ve got room on your schedule and you love the subject, go for it. D did both AP Chen and AP Bio as a junior and has AP Physics-Mechanics this year, for the rare triple. That’s the sort of thing that impresses colleges, doing something few other people do. Otherwise, AB is the preferred route.

FWIW, if you get a 4 or 5 in AP Lang, substituting AP Stat for AP Lit is perfectly acceptable as long as you get four English credits in.

Take the Calc, since you are going for selective college you want the stronger program. Treat AP Stats as an elective and take it this year or next, wherever it fits.
