AP Calc Or Average calculus?

WHich should I take senior year? I find math difficult and I don't know what field I want to go into. I want to keep my options open. If i took Ap Calc; I'd probably get a 75-80. If I took average Calc; probably 95-100.

How much would it affect college admissions to top school if i took average calc?
The rest of my schedule would be
AP Lit
AP Enviromental Science
AP CHem
Ap Psych
Maybe AP Euopean history
Honors spanish
Honors Physics
Average Mandarin Chinese- no honors course

if i can fit these.

Given the rigor of my schedule would it bother colleges that I took an average math course? Would it be better to do well in an average calc course or do average-horrible in an Ap class?
Please don't tell me that I should take AP calc .do well , and take the rrest of the Aps I plan too- that doesn't help.

help…10char.

I would suggest that you take normal calculus.

I’d recommend regular. I don’t know if it’ll hurt you in comparison to AP Calc, but a 75 is infinitely worse than taking a less rigorous class. A B might be a different story.

take normal. u have to practice alot for ap calc. and i dont think u’ll have the time for that w/ ur schedule.

Regular Calc.

My engineering major son was accepted at all teh coleges he applied to. He took 7 AP’s but did not take AP Calc or Chemistry of any kind!! (Lucky him… he has both this year in college as a freshman!!)

If you’re taking AP’s like chem and lit, then AP Calc should be absolutely no problem for you. The difficulties differ by school of course, so I could be wrong, but in my opinion the subject matter really isn’t difficult when compared to most other APs.

ap lit, ap chem are more my strong point
i’m weak in math.

If my school had regular calculus, I would have taken it. But as my teacher said at the beginning of the year, Calc AB (AP) is probably the last math class you can pass just by working hard. After that, natural ability comes into play.

If you’re willing to work hard, you can do it. If all signs say you’ll work the same way you always have and get a 75, opt out.

Regular. You’re taking a ton of APs already. Many students don’t even take calculus, so your schedule will be impressive as it is. You’re better off doing well in all these things and maybe having a little stress-free time once in a while next year! Good luck.
