i was accepted to L&S and i'm pretty sure that i'm either majoring in english or doubling with english and political science. i'm taking the ap calculus bc exam but i'm pretty sure that i'm not going to pass... as, i suck beyond comparing in calculus. the L&S math requirements are met by getting above a 600 on the sat math, which i did, and i'm pretty sure that there are no math requirements for english or poli sci, so is it okay for me not to pass the ap calc exam (because i don't want to have to take a math class ever ever ever again. well maybe. but i don't want it forced on me, maybe i might make the willing decision later on)? or should i really make that last ditch effort to study my ass off to try to pass it?

I'm in the same boat as you. I found out that the APs im taking essentially count for nothing. They don't even offer the ones that I need at my school. I'm going to study, but there's almost zero stress going into the exams now.

well actually i suppose that i'm just looking for confirmation that 1) i don't need to take any math classes as an english/poly sci major and 2) that my L&S math requirement is fulfilled already by my SAT score. because while i did research this info... but i'm not positive that it's right.

bump bump bump

Are you sure it's just 600? Check the L and S advising website to find out the exact number.

Passing it will give you credits, and these may be very useful later on.

You don't need to take any math classes as an Eng/poli sci double as long as you have the acceptable test score.

hey if I'm in engineering...and I take AP Physics C (E&M and Mechanics) and say...for some horrible reason I fail the test. Will this affect anything? =] lol

Senioritisis is killing me.

the calc bc curve is very friendly. i hated calculus and struggled a lot in the first semester and got a B when i took it .. got a ton of help second semester from my friend.. and i ended up getting a 5. most of my peers got 5's.. i know of one person who got a 4 and he's the guy that sleeps in class. well i did have a very good teacher so that may be why. but i suggest just try =) you might surprise yourself.
