The curve information was not released in 2007. The most recent published curve was for the 2003 exam, although the 2008 exam curve should be published sometime within the next year.

man, i hope the 2009 exam curve be like the 2003 exam curve. I bet many of you guys would want that.

@jerry4445
i’m definitely up for that…
did you take the AB exam yesterday too?

The scales are lowering b/c the FRs in my opinion are getting tougher every year. I looked over all the sample questions in collegeboard from 2003-08 and i was begining to notice the trend that the questions are becoming more complex than the previous years. See for your safe if you dont believe me. So yea, this year’s exam in the FR was a rough one and unexpected as finding the area was a first in the non-calculator problems

I think that the FR was alright. It was easier than the released questions in the past few years. But, if I get a 3 or 4, forget what I say about FR.

I looked at last years FR and they are ridiculously easy compared to that dreadful test i took today…

^ yeah i totally agree…i think the FRs killed me… =/

^ Definitely! I was looking over the 2007-2008 FRQs and they all looked very do-able to me.

But the FRQs today… definitely harsh. (or maybe I just don’t know my calculus well enough?) I drew a Mickey Mouse in one of them because somehow Mighty Cable = Mighty Mouse = Mickey Mouse in my head.

Did you guys find part 1 or 2 of the FR harder?

i managed to solve all the part 2 questions.
they were tedious but relatively simple. I couldn’t solve more than half of any of the part 1 questions.
College Board really made it harder I was so shocked when opened the paper.

I was expecting the usual.
For part 1 - ‘Tedious calculations (but with a calculator) but no quite so hard’
Part 2 - ‘Simpler questions but more theoretical’

It was reversed.
The calculator couldn’t help me at all for part 1 and I was furiously calculating with all those fractions in part 2…

yes omg it was reversed…i was like …dont i need a calculator on part 2…and then part 1 i barely used it…
sigh hopefully MC saved me

i was really cautious with the MC. I only did those i felt i would almost 100% get right.
So im leaving myself with a 10% margin of error.
I did 36 of 45 questions…
betting i get a raw score of 32.25/45 or a 38.7 or 39 composite for MC.

The rest is up to the FR… and the the CURVE!!

in 2003 it was 66-108 for a 5. i looked at that paper, this is definitely up a notch!

anyone else compared this years with the 2003 paper?

i thought the hardest part of the exam was the calculator MC
the calculator Free Response was really simple and the Non-calculator Free Response was a bit harder because of the numbers and it caught me off guard with the area problem- I expected that with a calculator- also didnt expect so much “explanation” for my FR answers- but conceptually the noncalc was not too difficult- im expecting the FRQ to save my MC score
I think if you got right around 70, you’ll probly have the 5 this year- overall, scores seem to have dropped a little the past few years, in AP’s and SAT’s
at least from the stats i’ve seen

I agree with brandonr49 about the calculator MC. noncalculator MC was really easy. I expect myself to have over 24 correct. Calculator, i hope I got all 12 questions right. i skip 5 questions overall in MC: 1 in part one, 4 in part 2. FR was alright. I hope I earn enough points from FR to receive a 5.

you guys found the FR easy?
i only found part 2 easy…
i couldn’t solve any from part one… i think i just started panicking…
did you find it harder than 2003’s though?

Getting ready to take the 2012 AP Calculus AB exam let’s hope we get a good curve this year!

Haha yeah! And let’s hope more than anything that the Free Response is doable.

What if one year, the entire world worked together to fail the test 100%, thus resulting in a curve which would award everyone 5s.

I hope the curve is generous, because I decided I’m just gonna wing the AP Calc test to study for Lit.
@Celelel mind = exploded.
