I’m on the bridge of getting a D on first semester AB. I had a really bad time balancing out my love of developing applications and games, and also my computer science engineering internship that I sacrificed studying time for my calculus class in high school. I am currently a junior and I’m debating whether or not it’s worthed to retake the AB course if I fail.
Well, there are several paths:
a. Catch up and do well the rest of the year in the class and on the AP test, so that you will not have to repeat it.
b. Repeat it next year in high school.
c. Repeat it in college (take calculus 1 instead of a more advanced course).
d. Go into a major in college that does not need calculus at all.
A D grade in 11th grade will negatively impact your college admission chances.
