AP Calculus AB Free Response Definites and Guesses

Does anyone know any for sure topics on the AB free response, and does anyone have any educated guesses on the topics?

Good luck everyone! :)

Sent from my DROID Pro using CC

Hard to predict topics for sure, but they’ll usually have a FR question on trapezoid or rectangle rule and approximating an integral, or solving a differential equation, or a related rates problem.

area under the curve, rotation for sure. the rest just pretty much what rspence said

Will there most likely be a related rates? :/

Sent from my DROID Pro using CC

theres a good shot that there is a related rates problem.

Area under curve, no doubt! Maybe a chart and related rates and piecewise, but most likely a graph that is labeled f or f’.

Might be a question on shortest path or minimum cost of something.

Are there usually related rates problems… I haven’t found one on a previous year’s FRQ yet

I’ve done a lot of comparing with the collegeboard tests from previous years, and these seem to pop up a lot…

 1. Area between 2 curves, volume from rotation, and cross section
 2. Graph to solve position, velocity, and acceleration functions
 3. A chart with Riemann sum
 4. Volume of an object (gas tank, tub, etc.) being filled or emptied
 5. Position of an object moving on a line and it’s velocity/acceleration
 6. Derivative and integral of exponential functions
 7. Related Rates

@imagineer10‌ Do you know if differentials will be on there?

Yes, I’m pretty sure they will be @pastelblue

@graceann‌ Like with +/- .05, △, etc.?
