AP Calculus AB or BC?

I'm taking Algebra 2 this year as an eighth grader. I've been pulling A's, but that's because my class is super easy. Next year, since my school runs a block schedule, I have the opportunity to take 2 math classes, one in place of an elective. I'll take it first half of next year, along with an AP Calc AB or BC the second half. Would I be able to take BC? I am only taking 1 other AP and I think 2 honors. Can I handle it freshman year or is it too rigorous?

Try it, if nothing else. If it’s too difficult for you, drop down a level. You have a very good schooling system if you can take Calculus in your freshman year.

Yeah, I’ve heard of really smart people having to take both, and I’m not even that smart, but I might try it and test the waters. I don’t know if I’ll get A’s though. And I also don’t know if I can get a 5 if I don’t take both. Has anyone taken BC without AB? More opinions?

In our school, we go directly from Pre-Calculus to AP Calculus BC. (an AB class isn’t even offered). If you are a math person though, take BC!
