AP calculus AB or BC?

Hello.
I’m currently an 8th grade student who’s taking a combined course of Algebra II and Pre-Calculus. Next year as a freshman I’ll be heading into AP calculus, but I’m having trouble deciding between AB and BC. I’ve heard there are benefits from taking BC, but that it’s longer and is taught a lot faster due to the length of the course. I’ve got no idea what do to here, if you guys could please contribute your own experiences that’d be great.
Thanks!

The AP Calculus BC exam includes AB material (limits and continuity, derivatives, related rates, integrals), and you also get an AB subscore if you take the BC exam.

However, a BC class might either expect you to have taken and passed AB, or may cover both AB and BC but at a faster rate. It mostly depends on how your school does it.

The difference between AB and BC is only a couple of units. The BC will move faster but I can’t imagine that a class in BC would expect that you’d had AB since then it would only be a few weeks long.
