AP calculus AB. Should i withdraw or dual enroll

So im taking AP calculus AB and i have an extremely hard teacher. She won a presidential teaching award so she attempts to make her class super hard with pop quizzes, testing you on material we havent gone over/only have 1 problem on in the homework ,etc. Im looking at most likely a C in the class ,however i can get a B if i do extremely well on the final ( 95%+ , highly unlikely sadly).

I have no math grade lower than a B. This class is eating up all my time as i study for it during other classes, do the 8hr of hw and study all the time. I was wondering how bad it would be if i withdrew from the class, take the withdraw F on the transcript and take it at my local community college? My community college gives less hw and is less stressful , so i really believe i can get a B if i take it there . Im just worried about the withdraw as im applying to UC Berkeley, UCLA, a couple other UCs, Cornell and Sdsu.

My counselor said i can take dual enrollment calculus at LMC and AP calculus at my hs and which ever grade is higher will go onto my transcript. Now obviously i wouldn’t focus in my AP calc class anymore or do the hw as that would be a waste of time , but i was just wondering how these options would look to my colleges. Or if i should just keep getting a C my senior year and struggling in this stressful math class.

College calculus will cover material at a faster pace than high school calculus AB. If you are struggling in the slower paced high school calculus AB, switching to college calculus would be like going from the frying pan into the fire.

Also, if you take a D or F in senior year after applying to UCs, you will have to inform UC immediately, because surprising them with a D or F on your final high school transcript could result in rescission of your conditional admission. Other colleges may have similar rules.

Oh dang that sucks. But like everyone at my high school who ever took ap calc at the hs and at the community college says the teacher runs it like an Calculus class at Harvard . She actually is much farther ahead than other hs AP classes. But would a C senior look bad to UCs? And they said if i dual enroll while taking ap calculus , ill get an F on my transcript (if i dont do anywork in the ap class) , but ill get a GPA boost from doing well at the community college course and they’ll put the community college grade, if it is higher , on my transcript as well.

It’s November 13. How do you take a cc class by the app deadline? And are you applying for stem?

Also, how does the GC say only the higher grade will go on the transcript but an F would appear? Is she talking about spring semester ar cc?

If a UC admits you, it will be conditional on your final high school transcript showing that you completed the courses you said that you were taking in 12th grade, with a minimum GPA (often 3.0 in past years) and no D or F grades. While a C grade will lower the GPA, doing well in your other courses can keep you above the minimum GPA. But an unreported D or F grade immediately fails to meet the condition, which means your admission could be rescinded.

Of course, if you report a first semester F to UC at the end of this semester as you are supposed to ( http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/after-you-apply/ ), then it may cause admission readers to downgrade your application, resulting in lower likelihood of admission.

Ok i see. And i cant fit the class in by the application deadlines. Basically i was going to take the community college course during spring semester and yes im applying for computer science which is why i am really worried. My counselor said if i dual enroll in calculus and take Ap calculus at the high school at the same time, during spring semester the higher grade will be put on my transcript. But if you think a C wont hurt me to bad as i do have 3 other AP keeping my gpa afloat then alright.
