AP Calculus AB vs. MAC2311?

Hello, I passed my AP calculus AB exam with a 4 which allows me to get my MAC2311 credit. However, I want to apply to medical school in the future and was wondering, does replacing a math credit with an ap class rather than an actual college class hender medical school admissions (is it frowned upon)? Or should I just take MAC2311 this fall as a freshman anyway? Thank you!

I’m no expert on med school, but I would think it’s better to take MAC2311 and grab an A (if possible) than taking the AP credit. It helps your all important GPA and looks a bit better on your application. Then again, if your major requires you to take Calc 2 and 3, I wouldn’t worry about Calc 1.

I think I’m going to take MAC2311 now, thank you!

How was the ALEKS placement for you? If you did really well I see no reason to repeat Calc 1 ( Calc AB). Calc 2 is hard at UF from what I hear so be prepared.

I got 83%, so I should probably take it again anyway.
