AP Calculus AB

How difficult is this exam? I have an A in the class, but I guess that doesn't mean much...and I also have trouble doing cumulative tests, or exams that test my knowledge from the entire year.. I tried a couple practice problems, and honestly...I don't remember too much of it. The FRQ's are also EXTREMELY daunting.

Should I back out and not take it?:/

I will give you some tips as i was also very scared before and i have been feeling much better now.

 1. I will not lie; the exam is pretty hard but with enough practice you will feel much better.
 2. Get a review book, preferably PR, to refresh your memory and take the practice tests because they do a decent job in explaining the ones you got wrong. I hate limits, and i think i will always hate them haha. But at least i know that is the area i have to focus on.
 3. The FRQ’s are another story. Let me just say this: the overall idea of the frq’s do not change. When i was cruising through the AB FRQ’s on AP Central, i was so scared because i felt like i should know the material, but i didn’t really. Then when i kept on going from year to year (starting from 2011), i noticed the first repeated concept: area between two curves, and the three common questions (except in 2008 the questions were a bit harder). Also, their is ALWAYS a FRQ that has a chart (except 2007 i think). The majoring of the time it will ask to estimate a specific point and find a riemman sum (the other 2 questions vary, but you will probably get them with enough practice). From recent years, the College Board has put a graph that labels it f, or f’, and they sometimes alter the questions, but if you get the general idea and practice those, you will get it. Some recent FRQ’s have been related to questions that will have to do with velocity/acceleration, so pay attention to those. Finally, some recent FRQ’s deal with word problems that can sometimes be very tricky.

Good Luck!!
