AP Calculus B/C or AP Chemistry for a Biomedical Engineer?

I'm considering taking an online class this summer that will help bolster my transcript for college. Next year, I'll be a senior IB Student enrolled in Biology III IB, and a Math Methods Class (a hodge-podge of Calculus AB, Statistics, Trig, etc), and but have only taken Chemistry and Physics on the Honors level. I took Calc AB this year, and was wondering whether if I should go for the AP Chem class or the Calc B/C class if I am pursuing admissions into Duke or Northwestern's biomedical engineering program?

I got in both Duke's and Northwestern's engineering school (and listed BME as my intended major) and I recommend you take whichever subject you are more passionate about. Calc BC would be a little more useful to you because its a required course in college and if you can get a 5 on the exam then it would help you in placing into a higher level. As BME, I'm pretty sure you never have to take chemistry, though I may be wrong.

A BME at NU has to take chem through first quarter orgo. I would definitely recommend taking AP chem- it would help you a lot.

if you get a 5 in calc, you probably have a higher chance of placing out of all the calc you need (which is 220, 224, 230,234) You still have to take a placement test though, and most people seem to place into 230 fall quarter. if you get a 5 in chem, you can automatically place out of general chemistry and directly take organic.

i feel in general ap's really aren't that useful except for placement and credit in college.
