^^ You don’t have to simplify arithmetic expressions like (1/3! + 1/6!) on the Free Response.

Have you guys noticed the unusually high number of people that got 5s last year? Almost 50%! Any explanation for this? Was the test easy or was it just a very forgiving curve? (Right here, if anyone wants to tale a look).

SuperCuber - it’s always like that. The BC scores are left-skewed for several reasons:

Students taking BC are generally much, much better at math than students taking AB (many who excel at math will skip AB altogether).

Some students take BC after taking AB and therefore already have a great foundation in calculus, one that probably helped them get a 5 in AB and helps them get a 5 in BC.

The depth and rigor of the calc 2 topics in calc BC is generally much lighter than what a college class goes into or what even the average calc BC class goes into with their textbook. Therefore, to the studios pupil, the calc BC exam will be relatively easy.

This kid on the way home today was asking about a random question on the BC test (I’m a year ahead and I don’t do math at school - also no idea why he would ask a week after the test haha) said that around 50% get 5s on Calc BC and I really didn’t believe him since I thought at most was like 20%. So then it’s kind of a self selecting test pool. Interesting. Compare that to Lang where only 7% get 5s - they should really be nicer so I have a chance :P

It’s kind of a self-selecting pool for lang too, but in the opposite direction. Most kids who take AP English really aren’t that strong at writing, and AP Lang is hugely graded upon your abilities to write powerfully. So although 7% of kids get 5s or whatever, it certainly doesn’t mean that a 5 is impossible. All of my good friends and I got 5s last year, and most of them aren’t the stereotypical College Confidential kids either - just good writers.

So how did you guys do? I just called yesterday and received a 5 XD
They didn’t tell me the subscore though…

Got my 5 in the mail today!

got a 5! I am ecstatic. Got a 5 for AB subscore too.

5 for calc bc and subscore…easy…bc barely covers anything new

i never got it in the maill!!
and i dont remember my ap number so i cant call .___.

What state are you from, heygirlhey13?

Got a 5 Very pleased, because math is SO not my strong point.
