I'm pretty solid with the MC portion of the calculus BC exam, but when it comes to the FRQs (for both AB and BC) I'm completely lost. My teacher has given us a lot of them to do at home, and I understand how to do them once he helps us, but I'm having a lot of trouble doing them myself. I tried to pinpoint the topics I needed help on, but I think I need help in identifying what exactly they're looking for/ the methods. Any help?

In terms of what they’re looking for, read the problem and interpret it literally, exactly as written.

In terms of methods on how to solve FRQ’s, most parts are relatively straightforward (e.g. no non-trivial observations required), so generally your first instincts should guide you to a solution.

Also, I strongly suggest writing your solutions (as opposed to putting just the answer, or just a bunch of equations with no meaning) as this makes it easier for the graders, and it also makes it easier for you to understand your own solutions and check for errors.

@MITer94 Thank you for your help!

Practice. Practice. Practice. The problems for each topic are pretty similar.
