I am currently a Junior in high school taking AP Calc AB, would it look better for colleges to take AP Calc BC or AP Stats? I want to major in science and eventually go to med-school so what would be better to take? I would be able to take AP Stats at my high school, but would have to take Calc BC at the other high school or at the local community college. Thanks for the advice!!!

Calc bc for sure! Good luck:)

I have also heard that Statistics doesn’t give students credit because the ap cirriculum differs greatly from that of colleges

Why go for AP Statistics if you don’t want to do business ? Just go for the AP Calc BC…

I wouldn’t take Calc BC, because they will place you in multi variable calculus when you have a superficial understanding of calculus. If you do take it, don’t write the AP exam if you need to take more math classes at your college.

I wouldn’t take BC because the first semester will be review of AB. If you’re already taking AB just take Stats. It will give you a broader view of math and will prevent you from tow things: a) being placed in Calculus anyway because your school doesn’t give credit or b) being placed in an even HIGHER level calc class which isn’t really useful for med school. Physics and engineering maybe though.

Although, since you are a pre-med, if you want an easy A, take Calc BC and don’t write the AP exam. Then, take Calc II in your first college semester.

You actually shouldn’t get credit for Statistics because you’re wasting an easy A that you will need for your GPA.
