I have already taken AP Calculus AB. How much new material is there really, and is it possible to learn it all in one trimester (now until November 27)?

for the book we used for AB
out of the 10 chapters, we did 7.

BC is chapters 1 - 10.

so not too much more, but that little bit is super difficult material.

yea it is possible if you dedicate yourself.

About 80% of BC material is AB.

Oh, okay. Thanks. So reviewing AB material would also be a good idea, along with learning the new BC concepts?

Haha my teacher seems to recognize that BC stuff is much harder - we plan to get through 3 chapters in less than 3 weeks!

^thats impossible.

^ why not? chapters like derivatives only take a week or so to cover

Is there any specific order of the concepts you guys would recommend covering? Should I learn about parametric and polar functions, integration by parts, or something else first? A full order would be appreciated.

L'hopital's rule
Sequences and Series
Integration stuff that's not covered in AB (integration by parts, Euler's method, and there might be some other stuff)
Parametric/vector stuff
Polar stuff

I think that's what I did for self-studying BC stuff. But I had to go over Sequences and Series again after doing everything.

Thanks a bunch.

Let me clarify - I took AB last year. So I already know limits and derivatives (chapters 2 and 3). Chapter 1 is basically a brief review of some precalc topics.

And it is very possible. We did chapters 1 and 2 last week and are doing chapter 3 this week. Now I don't agree at all about going so fast through this much material (even though it is review), but it's possible to do.

oh gotcha, i thought you were saying that you will get through 3 chapters of BC material in 3 weeks, which is not realistic, ofcourse.

^you know whats strange, is that the very thing you deem unrealistic (im not attacking you or anything, im just saying), my school does

last year, we spent the whole time doing ab (give or take a couple things here or there like lhopital's rule, euler's method etc), and then literally the last 3 weeks were BC and then 1 week of review

so yes, our school does the majority of 'bc' in 3 weeks,
and out of the 40 students taking BC, 19 got 5s (almost 50%)
, so it seemed to work well enough

and its not like i go to some crazy private school, my school is public
