Will shell method be on the free response this year for BC?
Or will they do the traditional washer method revolving around y=b?

it's normally always washer method
i think you can still use shell though if you're more familiar with it and you'd still get credit for your response

My teacher said no shells

Shell Method? What is that? I've never heard of it. Unless my teacher called it something else.

you can use either one

there aren't ever FR questions in which you HAVE to use the shell method; they can be done either by the washer or disk method.

what about when ur finding the volume, say revolved around y-axis, and all the MC choices are with respect to x (dx)?

i'm sure it's still a possibility on the MC so i wouldn't forget it alltogether

urgfhh shells. need to review that.

i know i shouldn't say...but i there was shell method on the test today...

Lmao, when people least expect it, then BAM!

....really? there was shell? couldn't you do everything w/ the disk method?

They had shell method (or something similar) on the AB test, owned me hard...

oh ab. hahhaha :) thank goodness.

(I did without using the shell....) I don't think it's necessary, you should review it just in case .... alittle late saying this :)

i answered with an adjusted washer method (:

That was the evilest FR...

i guess a modified washer would work on BC FRQ, but they were prolly going for shell

my teacher wrote the AP BC test (one of three people that do) and he said shell was taken off in 1997.
