Is it possible to pass the math required for engineering if one feels lost though is passing AP Calculus?

Should be. Not all engineering students even have AP Calculus… so you’re ahead of the game, so to speak.

It’s when you feel lost in Alegbra I that you’re retaking for the 3rd time that you should be concerned.

It depends on how you are in math in general. I know my senior year I took AP calc and passed(due to the teacher being very easy), but I still did not feel like I understood the concepts as well as I should. For this reason alone I decided not to take the AP exam because since I was an engineering major I decided to retake calc to have a mastery over it. I found that when I got to college and retook the class that it was much harder because there isnt someone there holding your hand through the class and makes sure you pass, you have to do all the learning for the most part on your own. If you are like me this was a big change because studying in high school was something I just didnt do, but in college its a must. If you can teach yourself to study I believe that anybody can handle the math classes you will take as an engineer I have seen it with many fellow students and myself. I would advise that if you dont feel like you know the material that well to retake calc 1 because if you dont understand those basic concepts I will say this calc 2 will be HELL! Its much harder but as long as you study you can pass! So in conclusion the math classes are all passable as long as you study and if you feel lost in AP calc i would advise retaking it in college because the hardest math class I took was Calc 2… it gets easier actually from there… but studying and knowing the basics as best as you can will help you get through the rest of your math classes.
