<p>Is AP Calc AB required to take BC? I looked at the description on the college board website and it says BC includes everything that AP covers. My teacher says I need AB before I can take BC.</p>
<p>well in my school you can head straight to BC after completing Honors Pre-Calculus. You go AB Calculus if you're in regular PC. But it differs among different schools.</p>
<p>They only have a normal pre-calc class here. It's 'math analysis,' and it has a section of trig and one of precalc.</p>
<p>AB is definitely not necessary before entering BC. AB is pretty much the first semester of BC stretched into a whole year, with a few bits of supplemental stuff. I know, because I took BC first semester before dropping out to avoid a bad teacher and went to AB. I suppose you could take both, but it would be very repetetive.</p>
