Is there a maximum amount of AP credits (and community college ones) that you can bring into UCSD?

haha I dont think that theres a max. But you are limited to 25% pass/fail classes from freshman year to until you graduate. AP classes and I think CC classes count as pass/fail classes. 180 units are required for graduation, and only 25% (45 units) of that can be taken pass/fail. So if you take a lot of AP and CC, you'll have to probably take all your classes at UCSD for a grade. Thats a minor downside to APs.

actually its 25% of your total units and not necessarily 180 if your total ends up being more.

I was looking at that too, and I think it mentioned (for Muir at least) that there is a 200 unit maximum? I don't know if I was misinterpreting that or not, but would that mean once you hit 200 units, you're not allowed to take any more classes? That would set an AP/CC cap at 50 units.

AP classes count towards the 25% max? I thought it was only units completed at UCSD. I have friends who came in with 70+ AP credits, so they would have to take 280 total units if AP credits did actually count, which would mean they'd have to exceed the maximum units for a double major to accomplish it. Why is there a max number of units anyways?

to make sure there's an incentive for you to get out in an appropriate amount of time and give someone else a chance to attend :)
