AP chem and AP bio same year?

hi guys,
I will be a senior in high school next year and just want some advice from anyone who ever took ap chem and ap bio before preferably in the same year. So far my schedule looks like this:
DE (Dual Enrollment) World lit
DE phycology
AP Chem
AP bio
Pre calculus hon
gov/eco

I like the schedule and I really like science but I hate English. I was wondering if it would make sense for me to just drop the DE world lit and do regular honors English so that I don’t stress myself but I don’t know. maybe it might be easy… Anyone with prior experience who can share their thoughts especially on taking both AP chem and bio in the same year! I would greatly appreciate it.

If you don’t like English, don’t take it DE.
What is DE Phycology?
Have you reached level 3-4 in a foreign language?
What’s your goal in taking both AP Bio and AP chemistry? Those are not only hard but also very time intensive and it’s not a matter of liking science, rather it’s a matter of how many hours in a day you have. Basically it’s NOT a good idea, especially since first semester senior year you will have that hidden writing intensive class called ‘college applications’ ;). You run the risk of shortchanging the applications just so you can do everything two lab sciences require.

I would not recommend taking both AP Bio and AP Chem concurrently. In addition to the time commitment required by virtue of being AP’s, each requires a lot of time for labs and lab reports. For many schools, these classes are either double-periods, or require additional time before/after school.

As @MYOS1634 says, you need to account for the “hidden” class - College Applications and Essays. Incoming seniors always underestimate the time commitment involved.

People ask this type of thing so often I have a “faq” i have saved for it:

You want Senior Year to be rigorous.

But, you also have to deal with College App season in the fall, college visits, Any sports/band you may have, Leadership positions, Admitted Students days, Senioritis in the spring, and having enough time to study and do well on the AP tests so you can possibly get college credit.

So think about the load you took last year, how you did in those classes, and how much additional ECs + College Apps you have this year before you load up too much.

I would counsel against two lab sciences at once. No college is expecting that. And like skieurope says, it is a tremendous amount of time to devote to these two classes.

And yes, there are some people who can do this…but they are not coming to CC to ask if it is a good idea.
