This year I took AP microeconomics and AP chem
I got a 5 on micro and a 3 on chem.
Great, a 5 on micro, too bad i have little/no interest in majoring in it
Sure i passed chem, but my top schools want at LEAST a 4 for credits.
I feel like I was one point away from thousands of dollars in savings...
Can anyone set me straight and give me the facts?

My sister is part of a rigorous premed track at a top 12 university and since she got a 4 on AP Chem, she had to retake the course freshman year. Chain reaction led to pushing Organic Chem to Sophomore year, and she had to take physics over the summer in order to take the MCAT in time. That was paid in full by our family, nearly $3000. If you’re aiming for a route like that, ,you might be out of luck, but that just might be the constraints of the university.

OP,
Are you going to be premed? See [Pre-Med Advice on AP Credit > Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry | Yale University](<a href=“Welcome | Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry”>Welcome | Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry)

Yeah, dude calm down. First off, the AP Chem exam is hard. Second, even if you got a 5, most medical schools require that you take chemistry at a college and NOT in high school. So, even if you got a 5, it wouldn’t have meant anything. Think about it like this, you got a three which isn’t that bad. Because you took the class, you already know the various concepts that your chem teacher will go over in college.

Eagle you are so full of wisdom!

You don’t skip med school pre reqs…
@smarty thats more bad scheduling on her part tbh

Good scores, you should be happy. Chem is a hard exam, a 3 is def passing and more than enough.

Yeah! That is a good score ill be set for intro chem
