I have course registration coming up and im unsure wheter to take ap chem or ap bio. I'm a current sophomore and I have gotten A's in both honors bio and chem. Bio was way easier than chem for me, but I have heard that AP Chem will help in AP Bio. I also don't want to drop my GPA. I got a 4.83 freshman year and a 5.00 this year. I want to get a 5.0 junior year so I want to take the easier of the two. The AP Bio teacher adds 20 pts to test grades for test corrections, which makes grades easier. Chem at my school is challenging and taking honors chem and getting an A this year can make next years AP chem easier though the teacher is said to be difficult. What would you guys do in my position? Take AP Bio or AP Chem?

Our school only has AP Bio and no AP Chem. We do have a Chem 2 but I haven't heard many students talk about it.
I'm currently in our AP Bio, but it's currently under a new teacher. (We had it a couple years ago, but it was available last year.)
Basically, it's just a fast paced Bio 2. We do about a chapter a week, and do the twelve required AP labs where they fit.
It's pretty fun, but I guess it's just because the kids in my class.
Take whatever interest you more.

On a related side note, which would be better to take online?

Since you want the higher grade, take AP bio.

I would actually take chem because I found chem more interesting. When I was in chem honors, my teacher (who also taught chem AP) made chem AP sounded impossible. I was not the best student in chem honors and made just-okay grades. When I told my teacher I want to go to chem AP, the guy looked at me funny but signed me up anyways. I found the chem AP class very interesting and I ended up getting one of the highest grades in my AP class. So I guess my point is that if you take something you are interested in, you might get really high grades anyways. But if you just want to play safe, then stay with bio.

@secretchords, maybe bio? Because it's just reading the book... (But I took/taking both these classes at my school)

i like the way u roll ruffryda :)

Given your goals, take AP Bio. Easier class and curved tests mean a better chance of getting the grade you want.

AP Biology in my school is one of the hardest courses because of the large amount of work. AP Chemistry, which I'm in right now is not a lot of work and the subject material is not too hard(I happen to like Chemistry though). However, since AP Chemistry is harder at your school, I would take AP biology.
