AP Chem Review Book?

for those who have taken AP Chem, what review book do you recommend? and why?

I highly recommend the AP Chemistry Power Pack (Sparknotes). It contains three sets of flashcards which I found easy to use and extremely helpful. The best part, however, is the review sheet- it literally fits the most important and key points of each chapter onto one sheet. Fair warning, it does contain a couple minor mistakes. And personally the practice tests it gave weren’t the best (they were MC tests though, so that was a nice change up from FR). The flashcards and review sheet/formula sheet are absolutely invaluable though and make the pack completely worth the money. Besides reviewing my notes from the year and practicing on old FR tests in class, this is the only tool I used and I’m sure it helped me score my 5 last year.

5 steps to a 5 is great for chemistry.

Princeton Review, definitely. My class barely touched the textbook we had but we used PR all year.

PR. Well organized. Helpful diagrams. Short and sweet. Practice questions well represented what the AP test asked. And the girl on the front cover is hott.

I’m gonna use PR myself, though I’ve heard Barron’s is good too if you want a really detailed (and often excessively detailed) review.

LOL bluewind
thanks a lot guys. i think ill get PR. i heard barron’s is ridiculously hard/detailed

I’ve heard rave reviews from Princeton Review.

Princeton Review was great. Very concise and easy to follow, unlike Barrons.

I had barrons and I could never follow it. For me the textbook was the best source - to really understand the material. Although I wouldn’t reccomend reading 800 textbook pages the week before the exam like I did. But it worked I got the 5.

From friends I heard PR was good.

Princeton Review is great and so is Barrons, even though Barrons tends to be a little bit harder.
