class selection for senior year. What's the call: AP chem, or advanced physics. They are weighted the same, but physics isn't AP. I have taken general science, chem, and bio, and if I don't take physics this year I won't have taken it in high school. So basically my question is, does the AP attached to chem look better than just advanced physics, assuming I would enjoy them both the same and will it look bad that I haven't taken physics if I choose AP chem?

Given your situation, i'd choose the AP chem purely because I'd get college credit for it, given that i did well on the AP exam. Or you could self study for the AP physics exam. It's your senior year though, have some fun.

AP chem is a lot more fun that AP physucks in my opinion.

Hi! I am a rising senior and I took both AP Chem and advanced Physics in my junior year. I think in terms of courseload, it depends upon the individual whether or not someone can handle certain subjects. For me, Physics was decent and AP Chem killed me. Too much depth in equilibrium and too much stoichiometry....

If they are weighted the same at your school (lucky btw) I would go with the Physics b/c it shows that you really went out of your way to broaden your horizon and really took the initiative to take all of the sciences. My Physics teacher was also amazing so I am taking AP Physics senior year.

If you believe that you can really deal with AP Chem, then go for it....but I strongly suggest Physics.

Hope this helped and good luck! =)

Adcoms like to see that you took the big three - physics, chem, and bio. You can still prep on your own for the AP test throughout then year and get college credit.
