I’m a junior in high school and I’m currently taking AP Biology. I took honors chemistry last year and did fairly well with the exception of a few topics like organic chem which just took a little more studying for me. I didnt want to take Ap Chem junior year because I didn’t want my gpa to go down as I heard it’s a ridiculously hard class. I’d like to be a physicians assistant and I’m worried that my decision of not taking AP Chemistry would hold me back in college. I could take it senior year but I don’t know if skipping a year of chemistry in between would be a good idea
Take it next year. Review it the summer before, and you should be just fine. If you’re looking to go into the medical field, you need the chem knowledge.
I’m in AP Chem as a senior, and I took Acc Chem as a freshman. While it’s not a perfect situation, it’s definitely been doable so far.
It’s fine. While every student (and school.district) is different, a very common science progression is:
Bio --> Chem --> Physics – AP
It’s not an issue.
Okay I guess I’m leaning more into that option. But what if I didn’t, would that be a terrible decision for college?
No, that’s fine too, since you already have an AP Science. But if you are applying to top-tier colleges, you should take physics at some point.
