I need a reliable Ap chem book(not a review book) to help me self-study ap chem. Anyone have any suggestions?

Princeton review is the best IMO.

^ Yeah, mine too.

did u only study from princeton review? also what grades did u get?

If you want a text, try Zumdahl's. Also, go to Amazon.com and type in Chemistry and look for books w/ good reviews

Zumdahl's.

I like Zumdahl's as well; its written very well IMO.

:)

Among others I own, I found Raymond Chang's book to be useful. It's fairly short, but by no means is anything important left out.

If you want to study for only the test, Princeton Review + CliffNotes for the labs may be all you need for a 5 if you're reasonably intelligence and are good at transferring summarized information on the prep guide to what's on the test, considering that you only need to get around 50-60% of the questions right. But if you want actual conceptual understanding and don't want to take risks, you want a good college textbook like Zumdahl.

Zumdahl is THE book to get. As far as prep goes, see if you can get your hands on actual tests.
