I know it's difficult I expect it to be difficult but is it manageable with 3 other APs(including calc AB, American history, language)? Has anyone doubled up with bio and chem? I will be a junior with these classes... Any feedback, tips? Advice?
Thank you in advance!

I know of two students in my AP Chemistry class that taken AP Bio the same year. One of them said AP Bio was basically memorization. And both take or taken multiple APs. You’ll be fine… Unless College Board decide to screw you over with the AP Chem exam.

I took both this year. It’s pretty difficult, but very doable. AP biology isn’t all memorization anymore and it’s very concept heavy now, so critical reading is important. AP chemistry is also concept heavy and takes problem solving skills. If you fall behind, you’re screwed. Everything in AP chemistry stacks on one another. The three AP class you’re planning to take are a lot. American history is memorization and there’s a lot to cover. Calculus takes a lot of practice and language is famous for lots of essays. Adding AP biology and chemistry won’t do you so well. You might feel high and mighty taking all these AP classes, but if you’re trying to impress, colleges don’t really like students stacking and suffocating themselves with courses they can’t handle. Just for words of encouragement, one kid I know got into, (he’s starting sophomore year soon) Yale, and he only took 5 AP classes, but he did very well in all of them. I think he’s majoring in chemical engineering. You might really like biology and chemistry, but there’s no need to rush, try to take one or the other. AP biology and AP chemistry were the only AP classes I took this year and it was pretty difficult, but I’m weird so don’t take my experience into deep consideration.

Thanks guys. I think I should take just chem next year instead of bio but I’m adding stats which is wayyy easier than bio. I will take bio senior year most likely
